- Our Design and Technology curriculum provides children with a strong foundation for lifelong learning by combining subject knowledge, practical skills and the development of important transferable skills such as teamwork, communication and problem-solving.
- Pupils learn about the designed and made world, exploring how products work and gaining hands-on experience in designing and making functional products for specific purposes and users. Design and Technology also enables children to apply knowledge from other subjects to solve real-world problems in meaningful ways, particularly through STEM learning.
- Through collaborative working and problem-solving, children learn to work respectfully with others and to consider important issues such as sustainability and enterprise.
- A positive attitude towards Design and Technology is encouraged by celebrating achievements through engaging design challenges, cooking and enterprise projects, and by sharing work at local events such as the Stroud Lantern Parade.
- We promote inclusivity by ensuring Design and Technology is accessible to all pupils and by raising awareness of the wide range of career pathways linked to the subject, actively challenging stereotypes associated with it.
