At Gastrells Primary School, we believe every child should have a voice. We encourage pupils to share their ideas, take on responsibilities and help make our school an even better place to learn.

Our House Captains, School Council, Sports Leaders and Eco Councillors have now been chosen for the year. We look forward to seeing them lead, inspire others and demonstrate our PRIDE values.

Pupil Leadership Groups

Our pupils have a range of opportunities to get involved in school life and represent their classmates.

  • School Council – elected by their peers to share pupils’ views and ideas and help improve school life.
  • House Captains – elected by their peers to lead their Houses, support competitions and encourage participation.
  • Sports Leaders – selected through an application process to promote teamwork, fair play and participation in sporting activities.
  • Eco Councillors – selected through an application process to help promote sustainability and encourage everyone to care for our environment. See our Eco page for more information.

We also make sure pupils’ voices are heard through surveys, pupil conferencing, class discussions and everyday conversations.

House Captains

Our House Captains help lead their Houses, support competitions and events, encourage others to get involved and promote our PRIDE values. They are positive role models who help build teamwork and a sense of belonging across the school.

Sports Leaders

Our Sports Leaders encourage pupils to take part in physical activity and promote teamwork, fair play and inclusion. They help support sporting events and activities, inspiring others to enjoy being active.

School Council

Our School Council gives pupils the opportunity to share their views, raise ideas and help make decisions about school life. Council members listen to their classmates and work together to suggest ways to make Gastrells an even better place for everyone.

Eco Councillors

Our Eco Councillors help raise awareness of environmental issues and encourage our school community to make sustainable choices. They support projects and activities that help us care for our school and the wider environment.
