Sports & House Council
We are excited to welcome applications from pupils who would like to become part of our Sports & House Council.
Applications were sent out in July, giving pupils the opportunity to put themselves forward for this exciting role. Our Sports & House Council pupils will help to promote teamwork, encourage participation and represent their fellow pupils across our school.
We are looking forward to seeing our new council members lead, inspire and show PRIDE throughout the year!
Pupil Voice and Leadership Roles at Gastrells
Pupil Leadership
At Gastrells Primary School, we believe that every child should have a voice. We give our pupils opportunities to share their ideas, take on responsibilities and make a positive difference to our school.
Our pupil leadership groups include:
- School Council – elected by their peers
- House Captains – elected by their peers
- Sports Leaders – selected through an application process
- Eco Warriors – elected by their peers
- Librarians – selected through an application process
We also listen to our pupils through surveys, pupil conferencing, class discussions and everyday conversations.
House Captains
Our Year 6 House Captains are role models who help lead their Houses, support competitions and events, encourage others and promote our PRIDE values.
Sports Leaders
Our Sports Leaders help promote teamwork, fair play and participation. They support PE lessons, help with sporting events and encourage other pupils to get involved.
