On behalf of all the volunteers in Friends of Gastrells (FOG), our Parent Teacher Association, we would like to offer you a very warm welcome to the Gastrells School community.

Friends of Gastrells is run by parent volunteers and has two main aims:

  • To help build a strong and inclusive school community
  • To raise funds that enable the school to provide additional resources, experiences and facilities for our children

The Committee

After many years of fantastic work, the previous FOG committee stood down in March 2023. A new committee was elected in May 2023 and is made up of eight parents who share the three core roles of Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.

Thanks to the dedication of the former committee, thousands of pounds were raised to support the school, including funding for a nurture garden, phonics books and additional equipment. Friends of Gastrells is committed to continuing this positive impact for the benefit of all pupils.

How You Can Get Involve

If you are interested in supporting Friends of Gastrells by fundraising or helping to organise events that bring the school community together, we would love to hear from you.

There are many ways to get involved, whether by:

  • Joining the committee
  • Being part of the wider FOG group
  • Supporting events and fundraising initiatives throughout the year

How We Raise Money

Over the years, Friends of Gastrells has raised thousands of pounds for the school through a range of events and activities, including:

  • Cake sales
  • Quiz, music or comedy nights
  • School fairs
  • Second-hand uniform sales
  • Egg decorating competitions
  • Non-uniform days
  • And much more

How We Keep in Touch

Each class has a class representative who helps share information about events and activities with parents.

We also operate class WhatsApp groups, which provide a way for parents to keep in touch and share information about what is happening around the school. If you would like to join your child’s class WhatsApp group, please contact the School Office.
