Gastrells Primary School is supported by a Governing Body of 11 members, drawn from a wide range of professions and backgrounds. Collectively, they bring expertise in business, IT, languages, logistics, law, and education. Some Governors are parents or staff members, while others are recruited from the local community.
Key Responsibilities
Our Governors are responsible for:
- Setting the strategic direction of the school, ensuring clarity of vision and ethos
- Acting as a critical friend, providing support and advice to school leaders
- Holding the school to account for educational standards and the quality of teaching
- Overseeing financial performance to ensure resources are used effectively
The Governing Body operates through a committee structure:
