We believe that the safety of everyone is a priority for our whole community including the management committee, all staff, pupils and their families, volunteers and visitors. We believe safeguarding is the responsibility of all of us.
“Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families has a role to play. In order to fulfil this responsibility effectively, all practitioners should make sure their approach is child-centred. This means that they should consider, at all times, what is in the best interests of the child”.

CPOMS helps our school to monitor safeguarding, well-being and all pastoral issues.
Safeguarding is paramount to keeping all children safe at all times. All services and interventions seek to work openly with the family (or young person if age appropriate) in order to support them address their needs at the lowest possible level and prevent them from escalating. We will only request services at a higher level after we have done everything possible to meet needs at the current level.
Children and families may have different levels of need at different times across a range of issues. Having a graduated approach ensures that support will be appropriate, and at the lowest level of intervention.
Children might also have a range of needs at different levels. It is important to take all needs into consideration when determining the type of support that might be required and the professionals who should be involved.
Child Protection leads have all undertaken the necessary training. All staff are expected to be aware of the KCSiE part 1 document as part of our safeguarding practice:
Safer Recruitment training has also been undertaken by a number of Governors and the Senior Leadership Team thus ensuring procedures are in place to reduce the risks involved with recruiting new staff. The national guidelines and advice are strictly adhered to.
