Special Educational Needs and Additional Support (SEND)
Who should I speak to if I have concerns about my child’s learning or Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
If you have any concerns regarding your child’s learning, development or additional needs, the following members of staff are available to support you:
- Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo): Ms Fiona Radway
- Assistant SENCo: Mrs Helen Evans

Role of the SENCo
Ms Radway & Mrs Evans are responsible for coordinating support for children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities and for leading the development and implementation of the school’s SEND policy. This ensures that all pupils receive a consistent, high-quality approach to meeting their individual needs.
This includes:
Working closely with parents and carers to ensure you are:
- fully involved in supporting your child’s learning
- kept informed about the provision and support your child receives
- involved in reviewing progress and outcomes
- included in planning next steps for your child’s development
- Liaising with external professionals and agencies, such as Speech and Language Therapy, Educational Psychology and other specialist services, to support pupils’ learning and wellbeing
- Maintaining and updating the school’s SEND register, ensuring that pupils’ needs are clearly identified and that accurate records are kept to track progress and support
- Providing guidance, advice and specialist support to teachers and support staff, enabling them to meet the needs of pupils with SEND and help them achieve the best possible outcomes
Designated Teachers for SEND
The school has two Designated Teachers for SEND who work together to support children with special educational needs and disabilities:
- Ms Fiona Radway – Designated Teacher and SENCo
- Mrs Helen Evans – Designated Teacher and Assistant SENCo
Both are available to provide support, advice, and guidance for children, parents, and staff regarding SEND provision in the school.
